Last weekend I played another fully-translated visual novel, this time it was Wind – a breath of heart by minori, available in english thanks to No Name Losers and Insani.
I have to say that I was sceptical of the game, given what was said in various places on the net, but it could be also caused by what was required to get the first release of the patch (A loong story involving destruction of one of game CD’s….). In spite of my reservations, Wind turned out to be an interesting and playable game.
While I won’t go into details about specific routes/endings, I have to say that the ones I liked the most were Minamo, Nozomi and Hikaru routes. As for Hinata route, I liked it’s very ending (reason was similar to one of the points why I like Hikaru’s endings, but I don’t want to spoil the fun) and “うにゅ!/うにゃ!” (“Unyu!/Unya!”) thing, which was Hinata’s catchphrase. No relation whatsoever to the title of this blog :-) (I still don’t know why I named this blog うにゃ。。and I didn’t know of Wind except for the title when I typed it as the title…)
The game is fully voiced (with exception for protagonist) and has movies made by Makoto Shinkai, the author of “Hoshi no Koe” (“Voices of the Distant Star”) and “Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho” (“The place promised in our early days”). And they are great :P (Yup, I am a big fan of those two movies =^_^=). In the RE:Gratitude the content from Wind fandisk is included, but it’s not translated at the moment. Pity :-/
